Meta Unveils Exciting New Gaming App ‘Pocket’

Meta has officially entered the gaming landscape with the introduction of a new application named Pocket, designed to enable users to create small, interactive applications and games through AI-driven prompts. This innovative software stems from Meta’s acquisition of the team behind the vibe-coded gaming platform Gizmo earlier this year, and positions itself as “a creative platform for making and sharing gizmos,” referring to the interactive experiences it facilitates. The app also features a scrollable feed which allows users to engage with gizmos created by others.

Similarities with Gizmo’s Original App

According to the screenshots available on Google Play, Pocket shares numerous features with the original Gizmo app, which remains available. Like Pocket, Gizmo also utilizes written AI prompts to create small, interactive experiences and includes a discovery feed for users to explore.

Discovery by Tech Enthusiasts

Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer known for uncovering new applications and features, was among the first to notice the app’s launch this morning, sharing a Play Store screenshot on X. However, data from app intelligence provider Appfigures reveals that Pocket was initially launched on June 29, 2026, across both the App Store and Google Play platforms. Due to its recent introduction, the firm has yet to determine whether the app has received any downloads.

Media Coverage and Meta’s Response

Various media outlets, including Business Insider and Investing.com, have also reported on Paluzzi’s findings. As of now, Meta has not responded to inquiries regarding the app.

Meta’s AI Creation Initiative

The launch of Pocket exemplifies Meta’s ongoing commitment to mainstreaming AI creation tools, following its previous initiatives that included AI-generated imagery via its Meta AI app and AI-generated videos from another app called Vibes. Additionally, Meta has integrated AI features across its social media platforms and enhanced its video-editing application for creators, named Edits.

Although Meta has not formally announced the launch of Pocket, it appears that the app is still in the early stages of experimentation. Appfigures indicates that the app is currently accessible only in Brazil.

Gizmo’s Success Rate

In contrast, the original Gizmo app has reportedly achieved 635,000 lifetime installs across both iOS and Google Play, according to Appfigures, which also noted a remarkable 98% positive user sentiment.
